Hi all,
I have been surprisingly productive this past week and I have been able to finish another unit of Russian 28mm Perry miniatures. This time they are Jagars. We need a lot of Jagars for the 1808-1809 battles. I have two scenario books that cover both years and each battle has many units of Jagars.
Well I wont waste much space with words. Here are the pictures of the unit, now I will switch gears and start painting up some Swedish/Finish infantry.

Hi everyone!
Today is Swedish National Day. It is a new holiday here in Sweden so it is nothing like the 4th of July in the USA. But it is good to see it is a day to celebrate the creation of the Swedish Nation.
I have been working on some more 28mm Perry miniatures, these are plastic and I am very happy how they came out. These 8 Grenadiers is all I need for Sharps Practice 2 and other skirmish type wargames. I am working on some Jagars and then I will switch over to some Swedish infantry and then some Swedish Cavalry. Hopefully I will start playing some small skirmish games with Song of Drums and Shakos to get the minis on the table soon. I now have enough 28mm Swedish and Russians to play a few of the in-rule scenarios.
I will be working on painting up a wagon with two horses to be used for a number of different uses.
I hope you are all doing well and Hopefully I will be able to get back to wargaming at the club in the near future. I will be getting my second Covid vaccine shot on Tuesday. One step closer to getting back to some form of normalcy.

Hi all,
I took some time to start learning the "Thud Ridge" rules by using some 3mm WW2 tanks for a ground target for two JA-37 Viggens. This is just a learning game but it helped me to think about how to run some games I want to run at the club once we are able to get back to face to face gaming.
The rules plays pretty good, I just need to play a few more times. I will add some extra ground support units in the next game. I plan to add some AAA guns and place the tanks in a defensive position with the AAA providing support.
Of the two Viggens only one hit its target. the other missed. So that is about a 50% hit rate. Hopefully that will improve over time. Pictured in the above picture is a movement template that I made using a 3mm thick MDF base I had. I made them two sided so it is easy to use depending which way you want to turn.
So after dropping there bombs the two viggens flew back to there base to rearm and get some help from the rest of the squadron. More games in the coming week to add the AAA and also some enemy air power.

Hi everyone.
As you saw in my last blog post I have been working on some 3mm aircraft for the Vietnam War as well as a what if Baltic air war taking place in 1980. Some good old Cold War scenarios.
I have been working on painting but also looking for rules that might work well for both periods. Luckily for me a fellow Blogger "Jim's Wargames Workbench" is also working on a Vietnam era air combat project. He is using a set of rule called Thud Ridge which is part of the Wings at War series of air combat miniature wargaming rules. They are available from Tumbling dice.
I have finished up the 4 x JA-37 Viggens and I have added national decals on the aircraft.
I have also finished up 6 x Mig-17's and I have also added the national decals.
I have painted up 4 x F-100's and F-105's, I still need to cutout and add the decals to these aircraft as well.
I have also worked on making bases that should work well for all conditions. I was going to use some ground flocking similar to my infantry miniatures but there is also a lot of water out there so I think I will keep the bases just plane brown without any paint or flocking.
I still have more miniatures to paint and also more deals to add but things are progressing along at a good pace.

On Thursday I started to paint up a flight (4 aircraft) of JA-37 Viggens in 3mm that I have had sitting around for a while. I want these painted up so I can play some scenarios for a what if airbattle over the Baltic against the Soviets in the 1980's.
I have placed an order to get in some Soviet aircraft from the period so I will paint them up as I get them in the mail.

Hi again,
I have now finished up the basing for the squad of Marines that I plan to use for skirmish wargaming of the Vietnam war. I am still waiting for a package to show up from the UK with the other miniatures I have ordered but things have become very slow after Brexit and now I am having to wait up to a month for things to arrive whereas before it was one, maybe two weeks delivery time. Hopefully, this will improve.
So, I have picked up a set of Skirmish Wargaming rules to use for different skirmish games and I hope this one will cover my wants and needs for the Vietnam and other historical periods. The title is One-Hour Skirmish Wargames by John Lamshead. I plan to try these out soon with some French and Indian War miniatures I have ready to go before seeing how they work in other historical periods.

Well my hobby ADHD has hit again but I did finish something that I had started before and those are 6 wood barrels for scenery or as an objective location etc... They are resin and they came out pretty good so here are two pictures of the barrels.
So once these barrels were done I started down the Vietnam War rabbit hole and I have just about finished a squad of USMC miniatures from Gringo 40 that I had purchased a year or so ago. I have painted them and I am just about to do the work on the basses and then they will be finished. I am waiting for a delivery of some more Gringo 40 VC and NVA miniatures to arrive so I can get some targets for the Marines to shoot at.
I am also looking around for a set of rules that will allow for a fun short game but with enough detail to satisfy my need for detail, especially with weapons I have been trained on and used during my time in the US Army.
