Back from Vacation

Hi all!

Sorry for not posting much during the month of May. I was in the USA to see my yourngest Daughter fraduate University.  It was a very good time and I was able to spend time with my family and some of my friends in the DC area.

I also got a new set of coin dies to make more Viking age coins, this set is of the first coin minted in Sweden, know as the King Olaf coin.

Fist pewter coins, next up is in Silver.

I will have a post up soon about a game of What a Tanker I ran at the club back in April.

Yesterday I payed a visit to the Swedish Royal Palace in Stockholm and on display was Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte 1763-1844 Marshal Baton!

I was very happy to see it on display.

On Vacation!!

Hi all!
I have not been posting much since I am on Vacation and my Youngest daughter is here from the USA on her first European vacation.

Good weather on day 1

You know what this is!

I will be posting pictures of some of the places we have gone over the 3 weeks of country hopping. We plan to see a lot of Stockholm and then fly to Copenhagen and then to Oslo. This way she gets to see the three Scandinavian countries on this trip to Europe.

So here are a few shots of where we have gone so far.

We took a bus tour of the city and then cruised Gamla Stan (old town).

We also went to the medieval museum and it was great! I highly recommend it.

The second day we started by checking out a ruin stone near my home in Vallingby and then we hit the Vasa and the Nordic museum.

Changes!!

 Hi again! 

WOW what a wild week!! I had a job interview on Monday and I must have made a great impression since I now have a full time job that pays good money!!
Also this coming week I will be on vacation in Side, Turkey!  A little sun and fun before the cold, dark winter closes in on Stockholm.  It will be my first time to this part of the world so I hope to have a good time and enjoy swimming in the Eastern Mediterranean.

 

Here is a little map of Turkey! Side is highlighted in Red on the map. Hopefully the weather will be good so we can go see some of the historic sites in and around Side.
