Space 1999!

Hi everyone!

                          

Well here is a little diversion from my normal Historical Miniatures. They are two 1/1000 scale miniatures from Shapeways.  They are of the standard transport Eagle from Moon Base Alpha and the other is a Hawk also from Earth but they were used by an alien race to attack Moon Base Alpha in the show titled War Game!

Yes there is an episode in Season one of Space 1999 where there is space combat. Short and not very exciting space combat but still there is combat. I also found statistics for the speed and weapons that each space craft had as designed by the creators of Space 1999.

I am so glad the clothing trend of the 1970's is gone!!!

        For all of those of you who are too young or have consumed large amounts of alcohol since the 1970's you can check out this Wikipedia link with some info on the show. Space 1999                         

Now I can remember getting a large toy at Christmas of the Eagle. so now I have scale models that are much smaller but now I have them so I can fight space battles.  I have a total of three Hawk's and 4 Transport Eagles that will be the combat Eagles. I also have a number of other Eagles that will be used as transport and lightly armed scouts. So look out Sweden we will be fighting for control of Moon Base Alpha.

Now for the rules. I have a st of space combat rules called Colonial Battle Fleet and they are from the same people who wrote the WW1 Naval Rules we use at the club.  The rules allow you to make up your own data cards, which I made earlier this week.

A preview of things to come

Hi all!
I have been under the weather and I have not had time to do much painting. I am hoping to get some painting done this weekend.

Here are some new data sheets that I have been working on and will give you an idea of what I plan to paint and start to use in upcoming games.

So who will be the first to name the TV show that the two above data cards are from? Yes I have miniatures and a set of rule for combat!!!!

Working on a Campaign!

Well my mind has been working and I am going to set up a little campaign.
I made the map today and added some test units to Berthier, the campaign manager that I am using to set up a campaign that can be used for a number of different time periods. 

I have tested out both naval and land units and so far things are working OK.

I just need to finalize the game and do some tests to make sure things work well and then we can start using the campaign manager to hep me manage the first campaign in the Baltic.

30 Years War Bavarian Cavlary

HI everyone!!!

I had some time today after going to the beach to paint up the firs of many 28mm figures for the 30 Years War. I am going to be working on building a force of Bavarians for an upcoming campaign that will be run at our local club here in Stockholm.

The mounted figure is from Bohemian troops LINK and is a great figure. I ordered 6 figures to create the cavalry unit that I want to make.  I will have a total of 6 mounted troops, including one officer, one ensign and four troops. 

The horse is from Front Rank LINK the mounted miniatures from Bohemian troops are designed to work with the Front Rank Horses that can be found on there website.

This is the first time I have painted a figure from the 30 Years War.

I will have more pictures as I paint up the other miniatures.
