Well it has been a busy weekend. I had 4 days off and I was able to get some work done on the 6mm ACW armies for Altar of Freedom. I finished 4 more brigades of Confederate infantry and I was able to get in two Federal Artillery stands. The Union Artillery are from Adler and the infantry are from Baccus.
I also made a small dice bag out of some fabric I had at the house from other projects. This bad is the first I have made like this and I think it came out good.
The dice are very special.
They are bone dice that I bought at the National History Museum in Copenhagen. I purchased a total of 20 dice. They are very nice and they are heavy compared to modern dice. I plan to use these during my 6mm Viking games for Sword and Spear.
Well I hope you all had a productive and fun weekend.
See you next time.
Those 6mm ACW are looking good! I am looking forward to the first game of Altar of Freedom.
ReplyDeleteThank you! We are getting close. I just need one more delivery of troops and then the buildings and we will be set for the battle of 1st Bull Run.
DeleteExcellent Confederates and those bone dice are rather smart too.
ReplyDeleteThank you Michael! They paint up really well! I like the dice, I placed an order for more :-)
DeleteMy head can't quite get around painting 6mm...but you've done a super job. Love the dice bag!
ReplyDeleteHi Gordon, I started with 6mm way back in 1992 when I was in the Army and the size was perfect for moving and not having much room for stuff. They are a challenge to paint but they look really good when you get the hang of it.
DeleteThank you for the kind words. The dice bag is good and I plan to make a larger one for all the other dice I have.
Great work Mark!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to some 6mm ACW action!
Thank you Gunnar!!! I have more Rebels painted up, I just need to post the pictures. Looks like we should be able to game in May sometime. I have the 6mm buildings and I have trees on order. I need to get to the club and check out the terrrain, hopefully we have roads and rivers that are not too big...
